Locked in Cages

Chinese contemporary artist 艾未未 (Ài Wèiwèi) has unveiled his last large-scale public exhibition, entitled “Good Fences Make Good Neighbors” and constituted by 300 installations around New York City, United States. The exhibit, presented under the patronage of the Public Art Fund on the occasion of its 40th anniversary, addresses the global migration crisis and geopolitical landscape by using the motif of “security fences”, such as the gilded cage pictured above, as a powerful artistic symbol.
