Andrey Vasilievich Filatov, President of the Russian Chess Federation and Vice President of FIDE, told TASS correspondent Andrey Fyodorovich Kartashov that the rumours surrounding the resignation of Kirsan Nikolayevich Ilyumzhinov as FIDE President are groundless. “It’s the first time I heard about it”, Filatov said. “And yet I am FIDE Vice President”.
